# Activity

> The Vigilbase OS audit log - who did what in your organisation, filtered by category and protected by a hash chain.

**Activity** is your organisation's audit log. It records what people and Vigil do in Vigilbase OS. Open it from the sidebar or press `g` then `y`. You need the `audit.read` permission.

## Read the log

Each record shows **ID**, **Time**, **Category**, **Action**, **Actor** and **Target**. Select a record to see its details, request ID and the hash that links it to the previous record. Choose an **ID** to copy its hash.

Filter by **Category**: membership, settings, access, integration, credential, agent tool (tools Vigil used), approval, action, export, retention, support access, kill switch and deployment.

## Hash chain

Every record is linked to the one before it by a hash. The page shows **Hash chain verified for loaded records** when the records you have loaded link correctly.

> If you see **Audit chain could not be verified**, at least one page of records does not link to its predecessor. This can indicate tampering or a storage fault. Contact Vigilbase support with the record IDs shown.
