# Organisations

> Choose, switch, join or create an organisation in Vigilbase One, and edit your organisation's details.

Everything in Vigilbase One belongs to an organisation: your company's services, requests, billing and members. You work in one organisation at a time, and what you can see and do depends on your role in it.

## Choose an organisation when you sign in

After you sign in, Vigilbase Identity checks which organisations you belong to:

- **One organisation.** You go straight into One.
- **Several organisations.** Identity shows **Choose your organization**, with your role under each name. It pre-selects the organisation you used last. Pick one and click **Continue**.
- **No organisation yet.** Identity shows **You don’t have access to an organization yet.** Ask your administrator for an invitation, or create an organisation.

## Switch organisation

:::steps
1. **Open the organisation picker.** Go to [one.vigilbase.com/org-selection](https://one.vigilbase.com/org-selection).
2. **Pick an organisation.** Under **Your Organizations**, click the organisation you want. One switches you to it without asking you to sign in again.
:::

The sidebar shows the name of the organisation you are working in, under the Vigilbase One logo.

## Join your company's organisation

### With an invitation

An owner or admin sends you an invitation by email.

:::steps
1. **Open the invitation link.** It opens **Join your organization** in Vigilbase Identity, showing the organisation, your email address and the role you are being given.
2. **Sign in** with the email address the invitation was sent to, or create an account with it.
3. **Click Accept invitation**, then **Continue** to open One.
:::

If the invitation has expired or was cancelled, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.

### By requesting to join

If your work email domain matches an existing Vigilbase customer, the organisation picker at [one.vigilbase.com/org-selection](https://one.vigilbase.com/org-selection) shows **Join** followed by the company name. Click **Request to Join**. An owner or admin of that organisation reviews the request. While you wait, the card shows **Request Pending** with when you submitted it and when it expires; click **Cancel Request** to withdraw it.

Owners and admins see pending requests under **Access Requests** on the [Organization](https://one.vigilbase.com/organization) page. They approve a request with **Approve Request** or refuse it with **Decline Request**, optionally adding a reason.

## Create an organisation

You can create an organisation from the organisation picker. Click **Create Organization**, enter an **Organization Name** and, optionally, a **URL Slug** (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens), then click **Create Organization**.

One may refuse to create an organisation:

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Use your work email** | Organisations can only be created with a company email address. Sign in with your work email. |
| **Verify your email** | Open the verification email, then sign in again. |
| **Organization limit reached** | You already own the maximum number of organisations. Contact Vigilbase to add another. |
| **Your email already has an organization** | Your email is already the contact for an existing organisation. Ask its administrator to invite colleagues, or contact Vigilbase. |

## Edit your organisation

Open [one.vigilbase.com/organization](https://one.vigilbase.com/organization). The **Organization Settings** page has two tabs:

- **General** shows the **Organization ID**, **Name (Slug)** and **Display Name**, your team members, pending invitations and access requests.
- **Settings** holds **Enterprise identity**, where owners and admins connect single sign-on. See [Single sign-on](https://docs.vigilbase.com/one/getting-started/single-sign-on).

To change the display name or logo, click the pencil next to **Display Name**, update **Display Name** or **Logo URL** in **Edit Organization**, and click **Save Changes**. Only owners and admins can edit the organisation.

## Your own account

Your name, email, password and other sign-in settings belong to your personal Vigilbase account, not to the organisation. Manage them from **Settings** in the user menu. See [Sign in](https://docs.vigilbase.com/one/getting-started/sign-in#manage-your-account).
