# Payment methods

> Add a card or bank account to your Vigilbase account, choose the default payment method, or remove one you no longer use.

Your payment methods are stored by Stripe, not by Vigilbase. You manage them on the **Payment Methods** tab of the **Billing** page at https://one.vigilbase.com/dashboard/billing.

You need the **Manage billing** permission to change payment methods. By default, owners and admins have it.

## Add a payment method

1. **Open Billing.** In the sidebar, select **Account** → **Billing**, then the **Payment Methods** tab.
2. **Select Add Payment Method.** A dialog opens with Stripe's payment form.
3. **Enter the details.** You can add a credit card, SEPA debit or another payment method Stripe offers for your account.
4. **Select Add Payment Method** in the dialog to save it.

Each saved method shows its brand or bank and the last four digits. Cards also show their expiry date.

## Change the default payment method

The first method in the list is your default and has a **Default** badge.

1. **Open the menu.** Select the actions menu next to the payment method you want to use.
2. **Select Set as Default.** The page reloads with that method first.

## Remove a payment method

1. **Open the menu.** Select the actions menu next to the payment method.
2. **Select Delete.**
3. **Confirm.** In the **Delete Payment Method** dialog, select **Delete Payment Method**. This cannot be undone.

You cannot delete your only payment method. Add another one first.

> You can also manage payment details in Stripe's billing portal. Select **Manage Billing** at the top of the **Billing** page.
